Le Grand Tétras

This stopover and holiday gîte, located below the municipality of Les Rousses close to the lake, will accommodate you in 2 to 5-person rooms with private or shared bathrooms.  Sandrine and Stéphane are the fourth generation of owners to manage this establishment which has been accommodating holidaymakers since 1936. 

A chef by trade, Stéphane offers you homemade dishes, made primarily using fresh and seasonal produce. In particular, he prepares traditional dishes from the High Jura region and also draws inspiration from Swiss cuisine.

Roger - Stéphane’s father - has collected old skis, sleds, bobsleighs and surfboards belonging to the region’s inhabitants since the 70s. The result is an impressive collection of objects which relate the history of skiing from 1850 to today and the lifestyles led by inhabitants of the municipality of Les Rousses and the surrounding areas. You can visit this museum in the property’s cellar on Thursday afternoons. Roger or Stéphane =accompany groups of 15 people or more for a guided tour.

In terms of leisure activities: cross-country ski slopes can be found on the gîte’s doorstep. A shuttle will take you to the alpine ski slopes. The Les Rousses lake is 900 metres away. This is the ideal place for nautical activities during the summer season: beaches, supervised swimming, sailboat, windsurf and pedal boat rentals. Many other activities in the area.
